Q: Who benefits from the Cook-Off?

A: Proceeds from the Cook-Off help The Berea City Club fund projects to strengthen our community.

Q: I am a Performer, Entertainer, or Vendor. Who do I contact about becoming a part of the Cook-Off?

A: You can contact Marie Pochatek at gristhree@hotmail.com.

Q: How do I get to the Fairgrounds?

A: The Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds (a.k.a. The Berea Fairgounds) are located approximately 1 mile west of I-71 at the Bagley Road Interchange (Exit 235). Please see the Directions/Maps page to get specific driving directions from your location.

Q: Is there stuff for kids?

A: We have lots of activities for children, including a rock climbing wall, inflatable bounce house, Euro bungee trampoline, and more. For detailed info click here.

Q: How much is parking?

A: Parking is FREE!

Q: Is there a discount available?

A: There is no Senior discount, but Children under 12 gain free admittance. In celebration of National Military Appreciation Month, all retired and active military personnel presenting military ID will be admitted FREE on Monday (Memorial Day).

Be sure to check out the 2020 Cleveland Edition of SaveAround for a Buy One Gate Admission/Get One FREE Gate Admission for both Friday, May 22nd after 5PM and ALL DAY Monday (Memorial Day), May 25th! Savings of $5.

Q: What kind of food is available?

A: Ribs, ribs, and more ribs, which you can wash down with with a slab of ribs. For those who desire something other than ribs, we have a wide range of alternative fare available, from hot dogs to funnel cakes, French fries, strawberry crepes, pierogis, cotton candy and other traditional festival fare. Click here to view the list of participating ribbers.

Q: Is there a Bike Night this year?

A: There is no Bike Night this year, but bikes are welcome anytime throughout the weekend, and can park right on the midway in our convenient Bike Corral.  That way, you can enjoy your ribs while keeping an eye on your ride. Regular Admission applies.

Q: How are the ribs judged?

A: Ribs will be judged by a blind panel for best ribs and best sauce; however attendees “have a say” and can vote via sms text for People's Choice throughout the weekend.  Information on how to vote will be displayed on-site at each rib team station.

Q: Do you accept credit cards?

A: While many ribbers and merchants at Berea's National Rib Cook-Off and Beer Fest do accept credit cards, admission to the festival is cash only, and runs $5 per person (excepting our FREE Before 5pm promotion on FRIDAY ONLY). Once inside the festival grounds, ATMs are available should you need to withdraw cash.

Q. Besides ribs, are other food options available?

A. In addition to great ribs, all rib teams offer chicken and some even have shrimp on their menu.  Also, a long-time food concession of Berea’s National Rib Cook-Off & Beer Fest is Sue’s Pierogi’s.  Sue also offers the best deep-fried veggies you will ever find.

Q. Are dogs allowed?

A. We realize that our pets are a part of the family.  However, we respectfully request you leave them at home.  This kind consideration is to keep everyone attending Berea’s National Rib Cook-Off & Beer Fest safe.  Licensed Service Animals welcome!
